If you can share, I am curious how you manage 1) being self-employed, proven by your licenses and 2) following the visa promise of not working in France. Do you work only while you are in the US? Or did you find a legal avenue to working for your US businesses while in FR? (I am self-employed in the US so the issue is relevant to me!)

Hi Maryn! We both work while we are in the US. My work slowed down as I figure out how to be a high-end architect/contractor while being gone half the year, or figure out an alternative. Fortunately we have other sources of passive income that help support us. We haven't taken advantage of any of the legal avenues to work in France - mainly applying for an entrepreneur visa. Probably, neither of us would pass the language test yet!

PS: We just this summer started renting out our French apartment for short term rentals - that's the only legal money-making avenue we have in France.
