Tomorrow is Election Day. I have sent you two political posts this week about American extremism—one in English and one in French. There is only one thing left to do:
VOTE.
If you can’t vote, pray.
If you don’t pray, drink.
If you don’t drink, cry.
If you can’t cry, laugh.
It’s all we have left.
As always, thank you for reading our newsletters. If you decide to move to France, we are here for you.
I took 14 yr old Charlotte and her friend Daniel to early voting yesterday in Park Slope. Charlotte kept saying loudly in line things like, “But isn’t he a felon?”
I am encouraged by gold standard Ann Selzer’s Iowa poll, but still too nervous to have champagne on hand.
I hope that Texas goes to Allred, and that the women throughout the country lock arms in solidarity for Kamala and women’s rights. 💪
I always love your muppet (and fraggle!) political explanations and analyses. The comparisons are uncannily spot on, and I’m simultaneously flooded with good liberal vibes and nostalgic childhood wistfulness.
and for me, at least I already live outside the US where there will be no riots when Harris wins, no bloodshed, and a huge sigh of relief. If Trump wins, the EU has already been working on contingency plans so I am hopeful we will remain safe. I believe the Democratic Party has been busy working on plans to deal with either scenario too and so I must simply follow what you suggest. I am thinking champagne no matter what!
