That restaurant is a five minute walk from my place! I’ve wanted to go there. We applaud the decision by Carrefour; we don’t need Pepsi products in France. American style bacon perhaps . . . Merci!

I agree and I frequently cook with it or pour it over frozen blueberries as a relatively healthy dessert. But I wasn't completely sold on it as a coffee additive. I'll keep tasting the product I mentioned and try a few others if it doesn't grow on me.

I don't love all coconut milks. My favorite is Califia. You two are brave for ventuing into vegan territory. I know Kara would probably never do it. She loves an occassional steak. And I would need to be a pescatarian at the very least (can't give up my sushi). Plus, we both hate mushrooms which seem to often be a replacement for "meaty" proteins. I really believe that to be plant based, you can't rely on taste substitutes for meats or cheeses. Other than "Just Eggs" I've rarely tasted anything that resembled an omnivore protein. But I'm curious to see how you two do. It's a smart choice. I wish I could do it!

That's interesting. I'm not sure we'll go completely vegan. And the answer for the world probably isn't for everyone to go vegan. But if everyone moves a little towards plant based and a little away from so much meat, that'd probably make a huge difference for carbon and greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere, for water use, etc. One of the things I said to Carolyn was that I don't want to be those people that you can't have over to dinner. If we come to your house and you are serving meats or fish or something with butter in it, I will eat and not require special treatment. And I'm not really looking for a meat substitute; I'm perfectly happy with an earthy-flavored mushroom or black bean burger. I'll take the food for what it is and find what works for me. It will also be interesting to see what happens with lab-grown meats as that technology gets developed, if there was meat without the suffering and environmental damage that would be a game changer.

Hey Vince - it's great to hear from you! I hope all is well with whatever is tied to the diagnosis. I don't know those other documentaries, but I'll check them out for sure. My best to you and Mary and the rest of the family!
