I love the detailed descriptions in all your posts! Am scouting Montpellier (as well as Aix and Marseille) these next two weeks for a possible move. Thanks for sharing the exuberance as well as the frustrations of your journey.
Haha! No. We have some IKEA stuff we picked out. Mostly I don’t like things that are flimsy. We use their dishes and silverware and curtains. And I rather like the Ikea cabinets in our kitchen. Certainly I appreciate that the brand fills a need for many people who want to live comfortably but might not have the resources for high end brands or handmade things.
Carolyn here. I think mostly we want to put a personal touch on things and sometimes IKEA can feel like every other person's home. We are really having fun searching out unique pieces as we discover our new city. I had to slow my roll because for the first month I just wanted everything finished and was itching to get to IKEA. Roberto convinced me we should take our time and find things we truly love.
I totally get it in both accounts. When we finally get to move we’ll be on a fixed income and will have to be careful about how we acquire stuff. I’m hoping we can get our place mostly sorted before we move. Only two years to go!
