As a bonus, we are sharing some apartments we saw that did not make our final cut.
This apartment was so beautiful in the listing but in real life it was much, much darker, and more importantly, the only bed was up in an open loft. A dream bachelor pad.
This next one had just been renovated and the paint was still wet (literally). It felt like being inside a wedding cake. It was a one bedroom, one bath, and some American will snatch it up, fill it with Louis XVI furniture, and live out all their Marie Antoinette fantasies.
The third one had an almost 360 degree view of the city that included the St. Pierre Cathedral. Of course, to reach this view it was a 5th floor walk-up. It might have been worth it, but the whole place felt miniature (the photographer used a very wide lens). Great for an AirBnB weekend. Not great for retirees.
A reminder that all of these apartments were listed at less than €500,000 euros, and we want neighbors, so if you fall in love please contact Agnès our real estate agent (and no, we are not working on a commission).
Jusqu’à la prochaine fois (until next time)
Carolyn & Roberto
So many apartments have ladders to lofts, with no railing around the top of the stairwell space 😱. I have visions of stumbling down into that space when waking up groggily in the night. I also feel, as an American, lofts lose their appeal after mid-life crisis.
Thanks for sharing these, Carolyn! What a visual pleasure! Takes me back to our many trips to France. So lovely! We'll miss you here, but hope you two find the most wonderful space and all blessings come your way!
